Dr. Walter Oechel
Director
Dr. Oechel is a Distinguished Professor of Biology at San Diego State University, and is internationally recognized for the quality and importance of his research studying carbon dioxide and methane fluxes between terrestrial ecosystems and the atmosphere, and the impacts of global climate change.
Aram Kalhori, Ph.D.
IRIP Program Coordinator
Dr. Kalhori earned her M.Sc in “Spatial Systems and Urban Environment” from University of Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg, France and started her Ph.D Program in University of Louis Pasteur. After a year she transferred her Ph.D to the university of Tehran, Graduate Faculty of Environment, Iran and earned her degree in “Environmental Management and Planning” in 2011. She is working with “Global Change Research Group” as Research Scientist and started her Post-Doctorate fellowship in 2013 under the directory of Dr. Walter Oechel. Their area of research is mostly on Seasonal and inter-annual controls on carbon dioxide and methane fluxes in Arctic ecosystems and also long-term carbon flux measurement of Chaparral ecosystems using Eddy Covariance technique.
